Holiday fun for kids (and their elders) in Spruce Head, Dec. 9
SPRUCE HEAD — The Spruce Head Community Hall & Historical Association has planned a lively morning of activities for Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. till noon. Located on Village Road in Spruce Head, the Hall will be decorated for the season and ready to welcome one and all – children, teens, parents, and grandparents.
St. George author Susan Vaughan will read from her latest book, Sleigh Magic, and she’ll be happy to autograph copies of the book for holiday giving, according to the Historical Association, in a news release.
Georgia Hansen, longtime local children’s book seller, will share one of her favorite Christmas stories.
Next, children of all ages can don their artist hats and show their creativity by decorating cookies with seasonal designs — trees, Santa, stars, and whatever else might come to mind.
Also available during the morning will be unique Spruce Head gifts: this year’s Spruce Head Centennial Tote Bag ($20), Spruce Head caps ($25), and copies of Spruce Head: Poems by the Maine poet Wilbert Snow (special price $10) and From Our House to Yours: A Spruce Head Cookbook ($20).
