Maine photographer Dorie Klein exhibits “Human Relationships: Real and Imagined”
WASHINGTON — The Gibbs Library presents an exhibition of photographs, “Human Relationships: Real and Imagined,” by Maine photographer Dorie Klein, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and Vermont College.
She wrote of this exhibition: “These still-life images, whether captured or arranged, serve as symbolic representations of human relationships.”
One of the photographs, "Resignation," is part of a series of COVID-inspired images.
“As we learned about the spread of the virus, hand washing became a necessity,” said Klein, in a Gibbs Library news release. “In the meantime, we lost our essential sense of touch with one another.”
The show will run through November and December.
A reception for the artist and the community will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 1:30 - 3 p.m., with refreshments and a display of unframed prints for purchase. All are welcome.
