With manhunt underway, Midcoast schools, Hannaford grocery stores closed Oct. 26
As the manhunt continues in Androscoggin County this morning, many schools and well frequented public locations are closed.

RSU 40, SAD 28, Five Towns CSD, RSU 13, RSU 71, Appleton and Hope elementary schools, are all closed today, Oct. 26.
There is no information of a specific threat to Rockland or Knox County at this time, according to a 7 a.m., Oct. 26, 2023 posting on the Rockland PD Facebook page.
Hannaford grocery stores are following all shelter in place advisories and guidance from law enforcement. All Hannaford stores in Maine will be closed until at least 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 26.
Just before 9 a.m., Pen Bay YMCA announced that it will close at 9 a.m.
“Out of concern for staff safety, the emotional wellbeing of our team, and the safety of children in our care, we have made the decision to close our Y facilities today at 9 a.m.,” the Y wrote in an email to its members.

Maine State Police identified Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin as person of interest in the shootings. A news conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Lewiston City Hall.
