Fall wildflower cleanup on Thomaston Main Street Mall
THOMASTON – The Thomaston Conservation Commission and the Thomaston Garden Club combined to cut back the wildflower planting on both ends of Thomaston’s Main Street Mall on October 1. Additional seeding is planned after the first hard frost and next Spring to diversify the existing planting and address any issues caused by our Winter weather.
The initial planting in Spring was organized by the Conservation Commission and Interim Director Lawrence Lentz stated, “Our goal is to encourage everyone to help our pollinators by incorporating wildflowers into their gardens and yards.”
The Conservation Commission and the Garden Club are both seeking new members who want to volunteer to serve their community.
