Maine Field Hockey Association honors area athletes
The Maine Field Hockey Association has named accolade recipients for the 2022 season, including athletes to its all-state teams and all-academic team.
Two area seniors were named to the all-state teams: Claudine Webber of Camden Hills in Class A and Kara Richards of Belfast in Class B.
Criteria for the all-state team includes: performs consistently at a high skill level; possesses leadership on and off the field; exhibits excellent sportsmanship; is dedicated to the game of field hockey.
Additionally, six area players were named to the all-academic team: Webber, Brynne Sawyer of Belfast, Ilanna Lam of Camden Hills, Greta Ahlefeld of Mount View, Theresa Hodgkins of Camden Hills and Dakota Jones of Mount View.
Criteria for the all-academic team includes ranking in the top 10% of her class and/or achieving a GPA of 95 (3.85) or better for three years; current member of the varsity field hockey team and must have been involved in the field hockey program for at least two years; must have made a significant contribution to the team during this season; must be a senior and of good moral character.
