Camden Opera House rounds out year with music, theater and dance
CAMDEN — As Autumn deepens, Camden Opera House has finalized its programming for the rest of the year.
Up next is the final SoundCheck concert of 2022: Fire & Grace, featuring guitarist William Coulter and violinist Edwin Huizinga, will perform a one-set concert Friday night, Oct. 28.
Live theater returns to the opera house stage Friday night, Nov. 4, as actor Leland Gantt performs his one-man show “Rhapsody in Black.” This compelling personal exploration of race in America was developed at the Actor’s Studio under Estelle Parsons. It is produced by Poughkeepsie’s Bardovan Opera House and, along with a day-time performance for local high schoolers, supported in part by the New England Foundation for the Arts.
On Saturday night, Nov. 12, Scotland’s Tannahill Weavers will perform traditional tunes on the pipes and more. Rescheduled from March, this concert is a limited capacity show with some social distance in its seating.
Midcoast natives, now indie music stars, Oshima Brothers will perform Saturday night, Nov. 19; Jamie and Sean’s concert will be opened by singer-songwriter Lulu Moss.
The local Atlantic Ballet Company’s annual “Nutcracker” returns to the opera house for Camden’s Christmas by the Sea weekend, with 3 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4.
And the Lúnasa Irish Christmas concert is back Saturday night, Dec. 10.
Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. Choose-your-own reserved seat tickets are on sale now at camdenoperahouse.com or by calling the box office at 236-3154 (“Nutcracker” tickets will be handled by People to People/ABC).
