Aaliyah Erin Carballo, obituary
ROCKLAND – Aaliyah Erin Carballo, precious angel of Todd and Jessica Spaulding Carballo, entered the loving arms of Jesus after a lengthy but brave battle with cancer, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Aaliyah was just 8 years old.
Born in Rockport, December 8, 2012, she was eagerly welcomed by her older siblings, Olivia, Katie and Ethan.
Aaliyah attended St. George School where her favorite subject was art. Her creativity flowed and the paintings and drawings she created will be forever cherished by her family. She loved being at school and looked forward to everyday she could spend with friends.
She kept current with today’s technology, whether proudly counting the subscribers to her YouTube Chanel or playing “Roblox” with her cousins.
Always on the go, she never wanted to miss an adventure. She was thrilled to spend time with her brother on her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney, and her eyes sparkled as she took in the sights at Rockefeller Center at Christmas.
Her family was her number one priority, and she loved nothing more than get togethers for birthdays and holiday’s especially Christmas. Staying up late, doing make-overs, watching and debunking the paranormal investigation shows and hanging with her big sister were some of her favorite activities.
Her smile was endless, and her spirit strong. Even in her sickest moments, Aaliyah never complained and was constantly worried about the well-being of her family and friends. Her sweet, loving nature will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Aaliyah was greeted in Heaven by her paternal grandparents, Cynthia and Scott Lachance.
She leaves behind her loving parents, Todd and Jessica Carballo; her siblings, Olivia Spaulding and her fiancé Mackenzie Kelly of Rockland, Katie Hall and her companion R.J. Muir of Waldoboro, Ethan Carballo and his companion Arianna Smalley of Port Clyde; her niece and nephews, Jordan, Nolan, Rylan, Natalia, Benjamin and Kayden; grandparents, Alan and Penny Dearborn and Gary and Teresa Spaulding; her great-grandmothers, Janet Spaulding and Janice Lachance, both of Rockland; Frank Carballo of Rockland; her uncles, Jason Spaulding and his wife Lisa, Macho Carballo and his wife Kim Tilton of Rockland, Joe Carballo and Lisa Prior of Cushing, Ryan and Jen Carballo of Rockland; many cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles as well as a large loving extended family and community who have supported Aaliyah throughout her six year battle. Your love and support has been and continues to be a source of strength to Aaliyah’s family.
A celebration of Aaliyah’s life will be held after the New Year.
