UPDATED: Belfast Penobscot McCrum offices a total loss after evening fire breaks out
BELFAST — The business offices of Penobscot McCrum, a potato factory located on Pierce Street, was destroyed by an evening fire May 9, according to Belfast Fire Chief James Richards.
When the fire was reported, around 6 p.m., it had yet to ravage the entire building, but two hours into the blaze it had gone through the entire building.

VINALHAVEN – Robert Young was born and grew up on Vinalhaven. He married his high school sweetheart, Kristie, and they have two daughters. Young has been lobstering all his life. He started at the age of 18.
“That’s just what you do on Vinalhaven,” said Young. “Everybody does it. I’ve been lobstering 26 years.”

The Rockport Select Board convened April 16 and voted unanimously to approve a “memorandum of understanding” outlining the manner in which funds would be disbursed from the Rockport Library Foundation to the town for costs related to the construction of the new Rockport Public Library.
