Waldo man arrested following Nov. 12 domestic assault incident
WALDO — A Waldo man is facing multiple charges following a domestic incident Nov. 12.
According to a press release, law enforcement received the complaint on Nov. 13, with the complainant advising that an assault had occurred the previous day.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Sgt. Nicholas Oettinger and Deputy Chris West responded to the scene, where the victim stated the incident began after she arrived at a shared residence.
The victim stated Devon Richards, 21, was upset when she arrived, and pointed his gun at her before taking her cell phone. Richards then allegedly insisted that the pair discuss issues with their relationship, according to the release.
The victim told the officers she was able to leave the residence the following day when she went to work. It was then she contacted both family members and law enforcement.
Deputies arrested Richards on Nov. 13, charging him with domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal restraint, aggravated reckless conduct, domestic violence terrorizing and obstructing the report of a crime.
Richards is currently in custody on $750 cash bail.
