Waldo County Sheriff’s Office beat: many deer in the roadways
BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Oct. 29 – Nov. 7. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
Oct. 29
Alan B. Clemence, 54, of Charleston, was summonsed for 50 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 7 in Brooks.
Michael Ellis, 27, of Stockton Springs, was arrested for unauthorized taking or transfer.
Deputy Jordan Tozier responded to a single vehicle accident on the North Searsport Road in Swanville. The operator was exceeding the speed limit when a deer entered the roadway, which the driver was unable to avoid. The vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.
Oct. 30
Amy Adriance, 34, of Winterport, was arrested for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Oct. 31
Rickey Curtis, 44, of Brooks, was arrested for hindering apprehension.
William K. Warren, 70, of Prospect, was summonsed for speeding 74 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 3 in Liberty.
Nov. 1
Deputy James Porter responded to a single vehicle accident on the Belfast Road in Knox where the operator was unable to avoid a deer entering the roadway. The vehicle was damaged. There were no injuries.
Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to a single vehicle accident on North Main Street in Winterport where the driver was unable to avoid a deer in the roadway. There were no injuries.
Nov. 2
Nicolas J. Goguen, 27, of Northport, was summonsed for operating after suspension and criminal trespass in Winterport.
Deputy James Porter responded to an accident on Reynolds Road in Thorndike where one vehicle initially struck a deer in the roadway, which resulted in the deer being thrown in front of another vehicle, which was unable to avoid it. There were no injuries.
Nov. 3
Jessica A. Letellier, 25, of Biddeford, was arrested for domestic violence reckless conduct and criminal mischief.
James R. Bohan, 53, of Frankfort, was summonsed for violating conditions of release.
Nov. 5
Harland Gamble, 55, of Prospect, was summonsed for an inspection sticker violation and traveling with an inadequate tire.
Nov. 6
William Whitcomb, 32, of Frankfort, was summonsed for operating after suspension and violating conditions of release.
Deputy Darrin Moody responded to a single vehicle accident in Winterport where the operator was unable to avoid a deer in the roadway, resulting in minor damage to the vehicle. There were no injuries.
Deputy Darrin Moody responded to a single vehicle accident on North Searsport Road in Frankfort where the operator, who was traveling north, left the road on the south side, traveling between a pole and guide wire, then hitting a driveway embankment and continued across the lawn and into a wooded area. The vehicle was towed and the operator suffered possible injuries.
Deputy Darrin Moody responded to a two vehicle accident on North Main Street in Winterport one vehicle, on Memorial Drive, was turning onto North Main Street and failed to yield to, striking another vehicle. Both vehicles were towed and both operators reported possible injuries.
Nov. 7
Deputy Jordan Tozier responded to a two vehicle accident on the Back Winterport Road in Winterport. One car was traveling behind another when the first car tried to make a left turn onto Meadow Road; however the turn signal on the vehicle was not functioning and the second car thought it was turning right and attempted to pass, resulting in the two colliding, according to the report. Both vehicles were towed. The operator of the second car was not injured, but the operator attempting to turn left was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center by Winterport ambulance for a possible injury.
Christopher Reynolds, 22, of Winterport, was summonsed for failure to yield on a public way, operating after suspension and an inspection sticker violation.
