Utah photographer in Camden Tuesday to talk about the plight of American Mustang, burro
Photographer John Steele will give a slide talk on “BLM’s Wild Lands of Utah” Tuesday, February 16, at 7 p.m., at the Camden Public Library. Passionately pursuing the perfect image for 15 years, John Steele has explored Southeast Asia, Sumatra, and North America, photographing people, wildlife, and the areas they inhabit.
“What I have discovered in my travels, is that there are no internal differences among any of us,” he said, in a press release. “We all want happiness for our friends, our families, and ourselves. We all want peace. This is our connection.”
Steele is particularly concerned about the wild horses surviving on public land in Utah, and many of his images are from Utah’s Wild Horses and Burro program.
“Much is happening,” he said “Presently there has been a huge shift in ideals regarding the land and horses. “My hope is that my images inspire an appreciation of the subjects and their splendor, and that you see them as an extension of yourself or a place you would like to share with family and loved ones. When I look through the view finder, I am looking for everyone. I hope that my photography influences you to become a better steward and an advocate for the health and well being of all earth’s splendors.”
