Tea and Talk: Afternoon Tea at The Kelpie Gallery featuring the meaning of flowers in art with Lauren Lewis
SO. THOMASTON — The second Tea and Talk at the Kelpie Gallery on Sunday, February 28 at 2 p.m. will feature The Meaning of Flowers in Art. Flowers have appeared in works of art since the beginning of time, but is it just their beauty that has inspired artists? Lauren Lewis, painting conservator and co-owner of The Kelpie Gallery, will speak about the symbolism of flowers in the art from the Renaissance to the present. Following the talk, The Kelpie Gallery will serve a traditional afternoon tea with some floral surprises.
"Tea and Talk at the Kelpie Gallery" events give people the opportunity to gather and socialize in an intimately artistic setting, enjoy tea and traditional fare from the British Isles, and learn about a variety of topics from local speakers. Tickets are $15/person and available online at TheKelpieGallery.com.
Due to the demand for these events, tickets must be purchased in advance. More information will be available on the gallery's Facebook page and website, TheKelpieGallery.com. Phone numbers for the gallery are 691-0392 or 691-3416.
