Stabbing victim in Rockland flown to major trauma center
ROCKLAND — A victim of a stabbing in Rockland was flown to a major trauma center, Wednesday night, Oct. 18, 2023.
Rockland police were called to the Maritime Farms gas station on south Main Street at approximately 10:40 p.m. after a 911 call reported a male had been stabbed. The victim, in his 40s, suffered deep wounds to the shoulder and abdomen.
For more than an hour, multiple Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies joined multiple Rockland police officers in investigating leads, which centered on one particular house on Pleasant Street. Rockland police then continued their investigation into the night while the deputies helped out by fielding unrelated 911 calls in the area.
The victim was transported by Rockland EMS to the helipad at Pen Bay Medical Center, where LifeFlight of Maine landed and took over patient care.
As of an Oct. 19 Rockland PD Facebook posting at 2:20 p.m., by both subjects are cooperating with law enforcement, and there is no continued threat to the community. No arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.
Rockland Police are attempting to identify and speak to several witnesses; including the operator and passengers of the vehicle pictured below.
