Shelly L. Wilson, obituary
ROCKPORT — Shelly Lynn Wilson, 45, passed away at her home, Monday, October 26, 2021, due to complications of asthma and COPD.
Born in Camden, September 12, 1976, she was the daughter of Clarence “Larry” and Susan Hart Wilson. Shelly grew up with her brother, Tom Dayhoof, at the famous “Mama Duck Farm.” She graduated from Camden Rockport High School and later took courses at the University of Maine.
While in high school Shelly excelled on the basketball court, a talent she passed along to her daughter Kassidy.
For several years she enjoyed being a “snow bird,” waitressing between Maine and Florida. Hospitality and service to others has always been in her heart. For the last few years she has been employed as the breakfast cook at the Country Inn where she considered her co-workers and employers family.
Despite the struggles in her life, Shelly has always persevered and managed to conquer many of those issues. It was the love for her daughters, Kassidy and Lily, that kept her strong. Her partner, Don Campbell, has always
had a special place in her heart. Recently, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, Shelly took on extra shifts, working six days a week, and visited her mom every chance she got. She and her daughter Kassidy were best friends and Kassidy will feel her mom with her every day.
Her infectious laugh could fill up a room and will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Shelly is survived by her daughters, Kassidy Robinson and Lily Wilson; her mother, Susan Wilson; her father, Larry Wilson and his wife Debby; her brother, Tom Dayhoof and his wife Annie; her nephew, Emmit Dayhoof; her niece, Althea Dayhoof; her grandmother Evelyn Ludwig; and her very special partner, Donald Campbell.
She was truly our hero and will always be. Rest in peace my little “Gurt,” love, Mom.
