RSU 3 may amend school calendar due to storm days
UNITY — Students attending classes within the RSU 3 school district may see a change to the school calendar this month, pending school board approval.
Due to the usage of six storm days this school year, RSU 3 Superintendent Charles Brown announced Monday, March 2 he is recommending the school board amend the school calendar to make Friday, March 13 an early release day for students, rather than a professional development day for staff.
Thus, pending board approval at the March 9 meeting, Brown said students should plan to attend school March 13 with dismissal starting at noon at the Complex.
Brown noted by making up one storm day, the tentative last student day of school will be Friday, June 19, pending additional storm days.
Schools in the RSU 3 school district include Monroe Elementary School, Morse Memorial Elementary School, Mount View Elementary School, Mount View High School, Mount View Middle School, Troy Elementary School, Unity School and Walker Elementary School.
