Peer Leader-LEOs donate fundraiser money to oncology

Proceeds recently raised by the newly formed Belfast Area High School Peer Leader-LEOs from their 1st Annual Mud Run 5K event held last month at the Troy Howard Middle School, in Belfast, were targeted to help those fighting cancer.
“LEOs shared news of their project with the local Belfast Lions Club, who helped at the event by serving hot dogs and drinks to everyone and then happily contributed to the LEO effort,” said Charles Lagerbom, in a news release.
On Friday, May 26, Belfast LEOs president James Ritter presented a check for $1000 to the staff at Waldo County General Hospital Oncology unit to help patients and families.
