PechaKucha, Nov. 13, at Camden Opera House
CAMDEN — PechaKucha, which assembles creative minds for unique visual storytelling, continues Friday, Nov. 13, at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm Street. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the program commences at 7 p.m. There will be a reception after the program, with food, drink, music, and plenty of chit chat in the third-floor gallery area. Tickets will be $5 (cash) at the door; people are encouraged to arrive early to get a seat.
The PechaKucha format, where presenters are given 20 slides with each one shown for 20 seconds to reveal their passions, work, and inspirations, is now held in more than 800 cities around the world. The Midcoast’s November edition, Volume 26, will be presided over by emcee Hanna DeHoff.
Each of the presenters will tell a six minutes and 40 seconds story of their craft.
Presenters will include Jennifer Albee and Jason Philbrook, Solar Farm Project; David Allen, artist; Rafi Baeza, graphic designer; Mark Bell, ceramicist; Jason Elon Goodman, filmmaker and photographer; Anneli Skaar, artist; and Tyler Southard, chief meteorologist at VSTV.
PechaKucha Night Midcoast Maine's organizing partners include Belfast Creative Coalition, Midcoast Magnet, Farnsworth Art Museum, Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors, Waterfall Arts, Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Strand Theatre, and various creative community members.
