One vehicle towed following three-vehicle accident in Belfast
BELFAST — One vehicle was towed following a three-vehicle accident that occurred around 3 p.m., March 15 at the Belmont Avenue traffic light near Renys Plaza.
The driver of a Toyota Corolla reportedly came to a stop behind a box truck due to a change of light at the intersection when a minivan traveling behind it failed to stop, rear-ending the Toyota and pushing its front end under the truck ahead of it.
The Toyota was being driven by 61-year-old Patricia Bradstreet, of Searsport, who was taking her granddaughter to her place of employment at the time of the accident. Bradstreet was helped from the vehicle by Belfast Ambulance personnel who evaluated her at the scene.
Bradstreet’s granddaughter, Ashley Butler, 19, said she was shaken up but did not think she needed medical evaluation.
The driver of the truck, Stephen Page, 59, of South China, said that he “hardly felt” the impact and his vehicle did not appear damaged.
The driver of the minivan, Cheryl Lewis, 61, of Adams, Massachusetts, was not issued any citations as a result of the accident and her vehicle did not appear damaged.
Neither Page nor Lewis required medical assistance.
The Toyota sustained disabling damage to the front end and was towed from the scene.
