No charges pressed in Camden handgun related altercation
ROCKPORT — An incident on Union Street in Camden sent law enforcement into action Tuesday morning, with a report of a gun being drawn.
At approximately 8:55 a.m. the Camden-Rockport Police Department responded to a call for a man with a gun at Hammond Lumber, said Camden Police Dept. Detective Sgt. Aaron Bailey.
When officers arrived both men had been seperated and a loaded handgun was found on the driver’s seat of one of the vehicles.
The handgun was temporarily taken from the vehicle for safe keeping during the investigation, he said.
“Officers concluded that the two men had gotten into a verbal and physical altercation in the loading area of the parking lot,” said Bailey. “During the altercation one man who had gone back to his truck and feeling threatened displayed a handgun. At that time the men were separated. Neither man wished to press charges.”
