ROCKPORT – Five Town CSD Adult and Community Education have many classes beginning in the coming months. Here are some highlights for the upcoming weeks.

Bluegrass Jamming for Beginners - Will surely give you a fun night out. As long as you can tune your instrument, bring anything you'd like to play with other bluegrass musicians. Original songs encouraged! Bluegrass meets Thursdays, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning March 10 for six weeks.

Cooking Irish Cuisine - on Tuesday, March 8, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. will showcase traditional Irish dishes beyond the usual corned beef and cabbage. Erin go Braugh!

Finding Your Own Medicine - Basic Taiji, Qigong and Acupressure for Balance, Relaxation and Pain Relief is a 4-week class beginning on Tuesday, March 8, from 7-8 p.m. This class is designed to give you strategies based on Chinese medicine to help maintain good health and address individual health challenges.

Make Your Own Backpacking Stove - Is a fun one-night class for the outdoors person. You will go home with your own lightweight stove in this class on Tuesday, March 15, from 6-8:30 p.m.

Home Maintenance and Repair for Beginners - Is an excellent class for anyone who does not know basic skills such as how to replace a light fixture or figure out a leaky faucet. Good for both renters and homeowners who would rather not have to call someone for all those little repairs. Class meets four weeks beginning on Monday, March 7 from 6-8 p.m.

Breast Cancer Prevention & Recovery Support through Traditional Oriental Medicine Exercises – Wu Ming Qigong begins on Thursday, March 10, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and continues for six weeks. With 1 in 8 women affected by breast cancer, these powerful practices are an important partner in recovery and prevention.

Many more classes will be starting in March, April and May, including Handmade Greeting Cards, Rock n' Roll, Magic, Advanced Sewing, American Sign Language and several classes for gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts.
