BELFAST — Propeller Club’s Maine Maritime scholarship recipients will be honored Wednesday, Oct. 15, 6 p.m. 

The guest speaker for the evening will be long-time MMA educator and Propeller Club member Sarah Hudson, professor of ship's medicine. Hudson came to MMA in 1989. Since that time she has taught ship's medicine to a multitude of future Merchant Marine officers.

On a ship or boat at sea, often times the difference between life and death for an injured crewmember is the medical training that a mate or captain receives at MMA. Hudson’s lessons have contributed towards MMA's reputation as providing the best training available a career at sea. Hear Hudson’s observations regarding shipboard medicine, gleaned over her 25-year career.

The meeting will take place at the Waldo County Shriners' Club on Northport Avenue in Belfast. The meeting will commence at 1800; the cost of the meal is $25.
