Midcoast Brass Quintet concert to benefit the Shields Fund, June 21
CAMDEN — “Joyful music will herald the first day of summer as the Midcoast Brass Quintet performs a free concert in support of the Shields Fund, a community outreach of the First Congregational Church, now in its twenty-second year of helping those in financial crisis,” said a news release.
The concert will take place in the church sanctuary at 55 Elm Street, Camden, on Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m.
“The program of popular, sacred, and jazz music will have you tapping your toes and singing along,” said the release.
Midcoast Brass Quintet features Megan Kennedy on trombone, Caleb Wight on tuba, Carolyn Kanicki on horn, with Peter Stuart and Bruce Cole on trumpets.
In 2023 the Shields Fund provided $82,923 in assistance to residents of Knox County and Lincolnville with financial emergencies related to housing, health, transportation, and education.
“Your presence and contributions will sustain this vital hope-giving work,” said the Church.
Donations can be made at the concert, online at www.camdenucc.org, or by mailing a check (memo line: Shields Mission Project) to: First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden, ME 04843.
