Hannah Howland will lead an outdoor presentation on Fall Into Color: Perennials to Extend the Season, Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 12 p.m., at Merryspring Nature Center.

Learn about great perennials that bloom from late summer into fall. Howland will bring examples, discuss how to use them in different garden settings, and how to care for fall blooming perennials. She will also discuss native and/or pollinator-friendly plants. 

Howland is a third-generation horticulturist. She inherited her passion for plants from her father and grandfather while growing up in their family-owned garden center in western Massachusetts. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Maine. Howland is the perennial manager at Plants Unlimited in Rockport and she loves putting her skills to work guiding clients to find the right plants for their projects. She is especially passionate about finding new and modern ways to incorporate our Maine natives into designed landscapes. 

This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series co-sponsored by Reny’s – A Maine Adventure and Camden Riverhouse Hotel. Attendance is free for members; $10 for non-members.
