Man accused of sexually assaulting child
ROCKLAND — A Canaan man is being held on $50,000 cash bail at the Knox County Jail for the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in St. George.
Codi Reynolds, 25, was arrested Oct. 4 by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and charged with gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
Reynolds made his initial court appearance Oct. 4 in Knox County Court before Judge Sarah Gilbert. Reynolds is also facing a charge of violating his probation on a previous burglary charge.
According to the affidavit filed in court, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a complaint after a student disclosed to a school official that she had sex with a male, who was later identified as Reynolds. The alleged incident occurred Nov. 18, 2022.
Police said that Reynolds had been living off and on with the victim’s family.
During his interview with police, Reynolds denied the allegations but acknowledged that had communicated with the girl by Snapchat and Messenger. In the affidavit, the victim claimed he sent her pictures of his penis.
Reynolds is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 9.
