Maine Lobster Festival gives to Care Net of Rockland in February
ROCKLAND — The Maine Lobster Festival Corporation was thrilled to offer the festival's financial support to Care Net Crisis Pregnancy Center of Rockland, at its board of directors' monthly meeting on Feb. 23. Ginny Rickards, center director at Care Net, attended the meeting and was presented with a check for $1,200 by Maine Lobster Festival president, Brian Plourde.
Care Net Crisis Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization that offers compassionate support and assistance to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy. Care Net has served men and women in Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln counties since 1994. They offer a number of services free of charge, including a 24-hour hotline, free pregnancy tests, peer counseling and education for both women and men, parenting classes, adoption alternatives, abortion recovery programs, and community referrals. They see approximately 50-75 new clients per year, and many clients return for various forms of care. More information can be found at carenetofrockland.com.
