Lady Knox DAR Chapter holds monthly meeting
The Lady Knox Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will be holding their monthly meeting Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at the Thomaston Historical Society, located at 80 Knox Street in Thomaston.
All members of the chapter and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
The winners of the DAR Good Citizen awards will be recognized by the chapter for their special achievements during the meeting. DAR Good Citizens are students chosen by participating high schools based on their qualities of good character. The qualities emphasized by DAR are dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
The DAR is a lineage-based membership organization for women who are decendants of soldiers or others of the Revolutionary War period who aided the cause of independence. A non-profit group, they work to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism.
