ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from Nov. 7-15.  

Daniel Ames, 43, of Rockland, criminal mischief in Rockland Sept. 2, 2023, $150 fine, restitution $614.01.

Kenneth J. Burns, 46, of Northport, failing to notify of motor vehicle accident in Rockland Aug. 5, 2023, $100 fine; operating while license suspended or revoked in Rockland Aug. 5, 2023, dismissed.

David Collins, 36, of Fryeburg, fugitive from justice in Warren Sept. 23, 2022, dismissed.

Anthony Dow, 50, of Rockland operating under the influence (drugs or combination) in Rockland Sept. 27, 2021, dismissed.

Isaiah Heald, 44, of Rockland and Cushing, probation violation for conviction of violating protection from abuse order in Camden Jan. 21, 2022, probation continued, no sentence imposed; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violating condition of release both in Thomaston Aug. 7, 2023, unconditional discharges.

Nicholas Marlette, 20, of Camden, minor having false identification in Camden June 24, 2023, dismissed.

Tina Marriner, 61, of Palermo, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in Rockland July 24, 2020, dismissed.

John C. Starrett, 42, of Union, operating vehicle without license-conditions/restrictions in Union Sept. 10, 2023, dismissed.

Patrick Trenholm, 35, of Monmouth, operating under the influence (alcohol), no test, in Hope, $600 fine, license suspended 150 days.

Donald Wood, 68, of Rockland and Cushing was sentenced Nov. 7 to 10 years in prison with all but 33 months suspended for sexually assaulting a girl from 2013 through 2016. The victim was 12 years old when the assaults began, according to the affidavit filed in court by the Rockland police.

Wood was arrested in October 2019 and charged with 10 counts of gross sexual assault, 11 counts of unlawful sexual contact, and one count of disorderly conduct.

On Nov. 7, Wood pleaded guilty in Knox County Court before Justice Bruce Mallonee to three counts of gross sexual assault and one count of violating a protection from abuse order.

The other counts were dismissed after a plea agreement was reached between the state and the defense.

When Wood was arrested, he denied the allegation of sexual assault. He agreed to take a polygraph test but later refused after he was represented by an attorney, according to the affidavit.

He was charged with violation a protection from abuse order after he made several telephone calls to the victim’s mother while he was in jail.

Wood will begin serving his prison sentence on Jan. 1, 2024.
