June Moody, obituary
THOMASTON — June O’Brien Moody, 80, died peacefully, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Quarry Hill Nursing Home in Camden.
Born in Clara, Ireland, June was the daughter of John and Mary Kate O’Brien Feery. At the age of five, June moved with her family to New York City, New York where she resided until 1972. While there she attended St. Jean Baptiste High School as well as trained to be a business administrator and nurse.
Combining her two passions, June worked most of her career in the healthcare administration field. For many years she was employed at Pen Bay Medical Center and later Camden Health Care Center. Later in life, June earned her Realtor’s License and worked as a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens/Town and Country Realty Group.
On September 9, 1989, she married Linwood L. Moody in Rockport. The couple resided in Thomaston until they moved together to Quarry Hill in Camden.
June had an extremely strong work ethic and poured one-hundred percent of herself into her career. When she wasn’t busy working, she enjoyed exercising, and found peace in gardening, keeping beautiful flower gardens. June was kind, compassionate, generous, had an infectious laugh, and brightened any room she entered. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
June is survived by her husband Linwood; her children, Michael O’Brien of Scarborough, Laura O’Neil and her husband Dan of Forest, Virginia; four grandchildren, Katie and Meghan O’Neil of Forest, Virginia, Shae and Callie O’Brien of Scarborough; a step-grandchild, Owen Soucy; her brother, Eddie Feery of Boynton Beach, Florida; as well as two nieces, Helen Hyndman of Boynton Beach, Florida; and Tara Hoesten of Orlando, Florida.
In keeping with Mrs. Moody’s wishes, her family has chosen to remember her life privately.
