Jamie Wiggin is the Artist of the Month at Hope Library
HOPE — Hope Library is delighted to announce that during April, local artist Jamie Wiggin will display her paintings at the Library. Jamie Wiggin is a Rockland native who has had a lifelong passion for painting. After some time studying art at the University of Southern Maine, she focused on the great painters of the early 19th and 20th centuries. Their influence is evident in her moving paintings of the people and places she knows so well.
Jamie's skill and attention to detail is reminiscent of the French academic painters. Many paintings depict her children and their friends, self- portraits and landscapes of coastal Maine. She has shown at Ingram Fine Art and Antiques in Wiscasset, Art of the Sea Gallery in South Thomaston, and Mars Hall Gallery in Port Clyde. Now living in South Thomaston, she and Ronald Frontin teach art classes in studios in Thomaston.
Be sure to visit the Hope Library in April. The library is open when the Hope Town Office is open, Tuesdays through Fridays.
