Ashwood Waldorf School serve as Honorary Pages in the Senate
AUGUSTA — Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2023, students from Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport served as Honorary Pages in the Senate session. Sen. Pinny Beebe-Center, D-Rockland, Sen. Chip Curry, D-Belfast, and other members of the Legislature welcomed the students.
“It is always a pleasure to invite students to participate in the proceedings of Senate sessions, and I hope the duties they performed today gave them insight into the inner workings of their state government,” said Sen. Curry, in a joint news release. “I'm proud to have had these talented and enthusiastic students from Ashwood Waldorf School representing their classmates and community in the Senate. They embody the spirit of the next generation of leaders, and I have no doubt they will make a positive impact in their future endeavors.”
Honorary pages are invited from around the state to perform duties such as delivering messages to Senators and distributing amendments and supplements in the Chamber under the supervision of the Sergeant-at-Arms and other chamber staff.
“I was thrilled to welcome students from the Ashland Waldorf School to the State House as honorary pages,” said Sen. Beebe-Center. “Their enthusiasm and readiness to help and learn is infectious, and I know their drive will lead each of them to continued success in life. I look forward to hearing of their future accomplishments and welcoming them back to Augusta.”
