Each morning, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state.

Maine faces decrease of 16,000 vaccine doses next week
AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) is preparing to place an order for doses of Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine for 39,660 people to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Operation Warp Speed.

Lincolnville’s May 1, Vaccination Clinic canceled due to lack of registrants
LINCOLNVILLE — The vaccination clinic that was to be offered in Lincolnville this Saturday, May 1, has been cancelled due to lack of individuals pre-registering.
“Lincolnville has approximately 52% of people vaccinated, which compares favorably to the statewide average of about 47% but still a long ways off from what science suggests as ideal,” said Town of Lincolnville Administrator David B. Kinney, in a news release.

AUGUSTA — For the week ending April 24, the Maine Department of Labor recorded about 1,700 initial claims filed for state unemployment insurance, and 150 initial claims filed for federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA).

Athletes no longer required to wear masks while competing outdoors
AUGUSTA — Based on the recent announcement regarding the wearing of face masks at outdoor events, the following guidelines will be in place for those events overseen by the Maine Principals’ Association.
Masks are not required for outdoor practices and competitions.

Homeland Security officials extend REAL ID full enforcement deadline amid pandemic
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas announced Tuesday the Department of Homeland Security is extending the REAL ID full enforcement date by 19 months, from October 1, 2021 to May 3, 2023, due to circumstances resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Revenue Forecasting Committee projects State revenues to exceed pre-pandemic levels
AUGUSTA — Following a Tuesday meeting, Maine’s nonpartisan Revenue Forecasting Committee is expected to upgrade the State’s General Fund revenue forecast by an estimated $461.9 million for the current Fiscal Year (FY), which ends June 30, 2021, and by an estimated $460.5 million for FY 2022-2023, according to a news release.

Maine resumes use of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine
AUGUSTA — Following the guidance of the U.S. CDC, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday evening the State of Maine will resume use of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson.
