Letter to the editor: Kathleen Meil has what it takes to do the hard work
The general election is upon us. We confront many issues in our communities and who elect will impact all of us, despite what many think. Fortunately, the people of Camden, Rockport and Islesboro have a wonderful choice to replace the honorable Rep. Joan Welsh in our state legislature. Her name is Kathleen Meil.
For almost 20 years I’ve worked with leaders throughout the US and around the world. Governing is hard and often thankless work. It requires a careful balance of consideration of others’ ideas, the intellect and commitment to get into the details and the data, and when data doesn’t or can’t clearly point a way forward, the courage to stand for your values.
Kathleen Meil has shown throughout her community service that she has what it takes to do the hard work. From volunteering at school, to chairing Rockport’s Library Committee, she considers others, dives into the details and stands by her values. I know she’ll keep working for us in Augusta. Please vote for Kathleen Meil on November 8.
