Taylor Allen on WRFR, dinner symposium to follow
ROCKLAND — This Friday, March 25, Taylor Allen, President of Rockport Marine, will participate in a broadcast interview from 4 to 5 p.m. on the Rockland Metro show on WRFR, 93.3 FM in Rockland and 99.3 FM in Camden. Following the show, Allen will join an Old School dinner symposium.
Taylor Allen started building boats as a teenager with his father, Luke Allen, who founded Rockport Marine in 1962. Since that time Rockport Marine has grown to be one of the industry's premier wooden boat yards, building a wide variety of boats, from traditional plank-on-frame to modern wood composite vessels. Allen has not only his own family tradition to follow, his wife Martha is the daughter of boat builder Joel White, founder of Brooklyn boatyard.
WRFR's Rockland Metro show each week invites a guest to bring a unique perspective on life in and around Rockland. Guests on the show are invited also to participate as special guests at an Old School dinner symposium following the show.
Dinner symposia at the Old School are free and open to the public. Participation in each symposium is limited to twelve, so participants must reserve their place in advance. Participants must also be ready to help. The dinner is prepared and served - and the dishes washed - in collaboration with the participants. To reserve a place at the table for this Friday's dinner symposium with Taylor Allen, interested persons are invited to contact Joe Steinberger: joe@interhuman.org
