Get your captain's license this winter at Camden Hills Regional High School
ROCKPORT — Are you interested in obtaining a captain's license? Do you know the difference between OUPV Captain and Masters 100GT licenses? Have you had at least 360 days at sea? Five Town CSD Adult Ed in Rockport is offering just the class for you, no matter what you may be interested in.
Our program is taught by a U.S. Coast Guard certified instructors from the American Boat School, LLC. On Thursday, Jan. 21, both the Master's Level class and OUPV/Six Pack class will begin. The Master class runs for 20 weeks, after graduating from the Master's Class, students are qualified to operate vessels carrying seven or more passengers. The Captain's License OUPV/Six-Pack Level class runs 14 weeks, and will qualify graduating students to operate vessels carrying up to six passengers. Both these classes are held on Thursdays from 6-10 p.m.
Fees for the classes include all texts, charts, plotters, and the USCG test. Payment arrangements, including weekly payments, can be made with the American Boat School instructor. Both OUPV and Master's classes are held at Camden Hills Regional High School, 25 Keelson Dr. All testing is done in class and there is no need to travel outside the area.
