PBMC promotes Evelyn Fuller, RN, to Cancer Care nurse manager
ROCKPORT — Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) announces the promotion of Evelyn Fuller, RN, to the position of nurse manager in the hospital’s Cancer Care practice. In her new role, Fuller will take on a leadership position in the oncology department, continuing her dedication to excellence in patient care and team leadership.
Fuller, who has been with PBMC since June 2019, has consistently demonstrated her commitment to providing specialized care to cancer patients, encompassing a deep knowledge of various types of cancer, treatment modalities, and symptom management, according to PBMC, in a news release.
“Her leadership skills shine through her ability to coordinate schedules, offer guidance and support to her colleagues, foster collaboration, and maintain a positive work environment within the Oncology unit,” said Ellen Leone, RN, MSN, chief nursing officer at PBMC and WCGH. “This new role will give her an opportunity to have an even larger impact in these areas.”
Fuller’s career at PBMC includes her recent position as nurse supervisor/clinical care coordinator in the Cancer Care department, where she was instrumental in implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives. Her efforts have not only enhanced patient safety but have also optimized workflows, ensuring the highest level of care for cancer patients, according to PBMC.
Prior to her role in Cancer Care, Fuller served as a medical oncology treatment nurse at the Harold Alfond Cancer Care Center. She served as an emergency charge/triage nurse at PBMC from Dec. 2014 to March 2020. Before that, she cared for patients as a nurse on the PBMC Med/Surg unit beginning in 2013.
Evelyn is currently pursuing her RN-BSN at the University of Maine at Augusta. She earned her RN-ADN degree from the same institution in 2013. She holds an associate’s degree in medical assisting from Husson University.
