Waldo CAP announces virtual community engagement meeting for 78-acre development
BELFAST — Waldo Community Action Partners (WCAP) announces a virtual community meeting to complement three in-person meetings it has hosted throughout Waldo County. These meetings are aimed at engaging residents and stakeholders in the development of a 78-acre land project in Belfast, which will also serve as the new headquarters for WCAP.
Community members are invited to attend this opportunity and actively participate in shaping the future of this significant project, which holds the potential to address a range of community needs, including housing, transportation, childcare, commercial and gathering space, as well as workspaces.
This virtual community meeting will be held on Friday, October 13, from noon to 1 p.m., via Zoom. To join, please follow this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87670105105 or call in on your telephone at 1(646) 558-8656 and enter the Webinar ID 876 7010 5105.
If you would like to participate but are unable to connect to Zoom on your own device, WCAP invites you to stop by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office at noon where you can watch and participate.
This meeting will provide community members the opportunity to engage in discussions with WCAP and Matthew Carter, AIA Maine Licensed Architect of Haley Ward, who is assisting with the planning of the site.
“We are dedicated to fostering strong community partnerships and delivering high-quality services that benefit our residents,” said Donna Kelley, LCSW, CEO of WCAP, in a news release. “These meetings are an integral part of our commitment to engaging with the community and ensuring that our plans align with their needs and expectations.”
WCAP’s development project will be phased based on priorities identified in part through community input and financing. This approach will ensure that the project evolves in a manner that effectively addresses the most pressing needs and aspirations of residents while fitting within WCAP’s mission.
Given the expected longevity of this project, WCAP expects to continue to engage with stakeholders as details and specifics are finetuned.
