Justin Edelstein named Maine Water Company controller
Maine Water Company has announced that Justin Edelstein has been hired as the company’s controller to join the finance and accounting team. He will succeed Greg Leighton, the company’s current controller, who has announced he plans to retire in April of 2023 after 35 years of service.
“Justin is a great addition to the Maine Water team,” said Maine Water President Mark Vannoy, in a news release. “He brings a successful track record of organizing, directing and controlling financial, budgeting, and auditing activities that is essential for Maine Water to efficiently serve its customers, communities and employees. Equally as important, he reflects the core values of service, transparency and trust on which that Maine Water has built its reputation.”
Edelstein will work closely with Leighton over the next several months to gain an understanding of Maine Water’s financial records and systems to ensure a seamless transition of controller responsibilities.
Prior to joining Maine Water, Edelstein was a vice president at Camden National Bank in Camden. He has also experience working at a regulated public utility in the tax department of Avangrid from 2012 to 2017. He is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine.
He has also served on the board of Midcoast Habitat for Humanity and has been its treasurer since June of 2022, and is a member of his local little league board. He lives in Rockport with his wife and three daughters.
