Is Doc really for ALL of Rock?
Rockport will be voting for the vacant Select Board seat on August 30. As the date draws near, I have seen more and more signs pop up in support of Ralph "Doc" Wallace. I began to wonder, who is Doc Wallace?
Ralph "Doc" Wallace's Facebook page is public and available for all to see. Reading his posts filled me with deep concern. And led me to question, what does he mean when he says he is for ALL of Rock?
Based on his posts, does he mean anyone who does not fit into traditional binary gender roles?
Or those who support the choice of all humans to decide what skin they are most comfortable inhabiting? Does he mean members of the BIPOC community or those that do not look back upon the 1950s as a time of affluence "for all"?
Does he support those who support a woman's autonomy over her body? Or those who believe that January 6 was a devastating day for democracy? Or those who would like to see assault rifles banned? Or those concerned about the environment and support alternatives to traditional energy sources? Or the LGBTQ community?
And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Is Doc really for ALL of Rockport? His FB page leads me to a resounding no. Not if you fall into the above categories, especially.
As a citizen of Rockport, I am concerned with the ramifications of voting Doc into office. I am concerned about divisive rhetoric, in the least. I encourage everyone who plans to vote in the upcoming election and is not familiar with his views to have a look at his very public profile on Facebook. You can decide if Doc really is for ALL of Rock.
Side note: Have some of Mr. Wallace’s most concerning posts regarding gender identity, a woman’s right to choose and assault rifles been removed from his wall? I have screen shots to back up all concerns I have listed above.
