Kendall Jay Ross, obituary
ROCKLAND — Kendall Jay Ross, 37, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 4, 2022 from injuries sustained in a workplace accident.
Born in Portland, September 12, 1984, he was the son of Jay and Kristin Blood Ross. He was educated locally, graduating from Rockland District High School, Class of 2003 and attended the Mid-Coast School of Technology studying Architecture. During that time, he was able to use his skill set to volunteer and make renovations to the aging North Haven School.
Later Kendall found himself the sole custodian of his girls, Haley, Autumn and Alexis Ross. He embraced his role with the usual passion and taught himself to braid their hair by watching You-Tube videos to make sure he did it right. Kendall felt complete when he was joined by his fiancée, Mandy Dennison, and her two children, Willow and Casey Dennison. He loved being a dad to his five children.
Together they enjoyed magnet fishing, hunting for ‘Grace Rocks’, going to the beach, having cookouts and campfires and movie nights on the couch. He had a special place in his heart for his brother, Bryan, and his family.
In earlier years, Kendall worked on his father’s lobster boat. A ‘jack-of-all-trades’, Kendall most recently enjoyed working in the construction and carpentry trades. He was a hard-working man with calloused hands and a tender heart. All who loved him will sadly miss him.
Kendall is survived by his parents, Kristin and Jay Ross; his paternal grandmother Joyce Ross all of Owls Head; his fiancée Mandy Dennison; children, Willow Dennison, Haley, Autumn and Alexis Ross and Casey Dennison, all of Rockland; and his brother Bryan Ross and his wife Mistydawn and their four children all of Rockport; as well as a large loving extended family.
A family funeral will be held at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
A public celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Owls Head Community Building, 224 Ash Point Drive, Owls Head. Private interment will be held at a later date.
