Seeking ACTORS FOR VARIOUS FEMALE ROLES, ages 20-70, any ethnicity, for a staged
reading of “Deployed” written by Nicola Smith and Samantha Lazar, directed by Anna Belknap.
Auditions will be held at the Waldo Theater in Waldoboro on Saturday, April 8th from 1-3pm. 

Performance dates are May 20th and 21st at the Waldo Theater. There will be between 4 and 6
evening rehearsals before the performance, date and time TBD and based on actor availability.
Audition material will be provided at the audition. If you’d like to have more time with the
material, please arrive at the early part of the session. No preparation is necessary.

”Deployed weaves together the original stories, in verbatim accounts, to delve into the unique
challenges of being a woman in the United States military, giving voice to stories that are often
kept hidden: stories of ambition and the desire to prove oneself, stories of oppression and
resilience, stories of assault and abuse, and through it all, stories of pride in service”.
Please be advised: This play deals with issues related to service in the military, including military
sexual trauma (MST). The entire script will be available to read at the audition.
This is a STAGED READING, actors will have scripts in hand. No memorization will be required
and movement will be minimal.
Experience is not at all required! Also, If you have zero acting experience but have served in the
military we’d love to see you!
