Susan Metzger paintings on display in Rockland, opening reception Oct. 4
ROCKLAND — Susan Metzger will be showing her paintings at Triangle Gallery on Elm Street in Rockland. In The Between, "exquisitely spiritual (sky/land/sea)scapes," will be in the upstairs gallery and runs from September 26 to October 29. The opening reception will be Friday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., Rockland’s First Friday Artwalk.
"Susan Metzger’s paintings, primarily oil on birch panels, are contemplative blurrings of the horizon we are so accustomed to experiencing with clarity," said a news release. "When she obscures this line, Metzger invites the viewer to explore the space where above and below meet, the in between, the place where Truth hides and we get absorbed searching."
Metzger studied painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She has shown throughout New England and California. Gallery affiliations are with Lora Schlesinger Gallery in Los Angeles, CA and Triangle Gallery. Metzger now lives in Maine with her dog, working as a painter and photographer.
