Talk on Maine’s climate action plan at Belfast library, Oct. 29
BELFAST — On Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Belfast Free Library, the next program in the “Finding Hope in Our Climate Crisis” lecture series will be a presentation by Ivan Fernandez, from Maine’s Climate Change Institute and co-chair of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the Maine Climate Council on the recent recommendations to the 2024 updates Maine’s Climate Action Plan, Maine Won’t Wait.
The talk, co-sponsored by the Waldo County Climate Action Coalition and the Belfast Free Library, will take place in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library with a Zoom option. To register for the Zoom option go to belfastlibrary.org/events and find the listing.
Fernandez recently retired as the Distinguished Maine Professor of Soil Science in the School of Forest Resources at the University of Maine. He co-authored the 2024 “Scientific Assessment of Climate Change and its Effects in Maine.”
