CAMDEN - After the Queen Mary stopped for a layover in Rockland, some of her passengers boarded buses for a trip to Camden. The story takes a twist as one resident of Cape Elizabeth, Douglas Miller, made the two-hour trip to Camden to see his brother who was on the Queen Mary 2. 

Bob and Kelly Baker from Woodstock, N.Y., and Jay and Sue Miller from Annapolis, Maryland, boarded the Queen Mary 2 in New York City. It was preplanned that the brothers would meet in Camden. Jay Miller said he had not seen his brother in over a year.

Miller said he had been to Maine many times. Both the Baker's and the Miller's said they had also been on the Queen Mary 2 many times.

"This will be our 11th time on the Queen Mary 2," said Bob Baker. "We always take the Holiday Cruise."

Jay Miller said it was their seventh time on the Holiday Cruise.

"I turned 70 last week," said Jay." This is our sixth cruise together on the Queen Mary 2."

Ray and Elizabeth Bishop are from Southampton, England.

"We boarded in Southampton and it's our first trip to the United States," they said. "It's also our first time to Maine and we think that it's just beautiful."

The Bishops described the Queen Mary as luxurious.

"It's a floating five star hotel," said Ray. "You don't even feel like you're at sea, even in bad weather."

James and Caroline Laughlin are from Ohio and boarded the Queen Mary 2 in New York City.

"This is our first day for 14 days, but it's not my first time to Maine," said Caroline. "I went to St. Joseph's College in Standish. We haven't been here in years, so we are really happy to be back."
