Sewell Colby, obituary
LIBERTY — Sewell Colby, 82, passed away on September 11, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1942.
Sewell served proudly in the United States Army and was an active member of the Masons for many years. He had a long career as a State worker for D.O.T.
In retirement, he enjoyed cutting and selling wood for many years. His death was sudden and tragic, and he will be sorely missed by all.
He was predeceased by his father, Lloyd O. Colby; mother, Cleola Winters; brother, Lloyd O. Colby II; sister Jane A. Prive; son-in-law, Edward Freeman; stepdaughter, Ann Slamin; wife Diane Cook; second wife, Charlotte Seekins; and lastly his dog Sophie.
Sewell leaves behind loving family members which include his sister Avis H. Canty; daughter, Natalie Freeman; stepson, John Slamin; life partner, Julie Belcher (and her entire family); several amazing grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
