Letter to the editor: Camden’s economic development committee endorses new middle school construction
Camden’s Community and Economic Development Advisory Committee (CEDAC) encourages the residents of Camden to vote in favor of the construction of a new Camden Rockport Middle School. A quality Middle School that supports a high standard of education serves as a critical economic driver for our community. The schools are often the single most important deciding factor when families pick a location in which to live, work and raise their children.
Our local teachers as well as students deserve to teach and study within an appropriate, effective environment that is conducive to learning and up to standard building codes.
We appreciate the years of research and planning that the preparation for the future of the middle school has required. Our committee has confidence in the thoroughness of these preparations, and we stand behind the analysis that shows that a new school is ultimately the most cost-effective decision. We offer our support to this project.
