Learn at UMC online workshop discusses “AI 2.0: Moving from Prompts to Personalized Workflows”
Event Date
Friday, May 08, 2026 - 09:00 am to 10:30 amThe next United Midcoast Charities LEARN@UMC workshop will be “AI 2.0: Moving from Prompts to Personalized Workflows,” led by Patrick Gotham of CCS Fundraising. This 90‑minute session will be held virtually via Zoom on May 8, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Please note that, unlike most LEARN@UMC workshops, which are typically held on Wednesdays, this session will take place on a Friday.
This workshop builds on last year’s “AI for Nonprofits” session and is designed for anyone who has experimented with AI tools but still finds themselves rewriting prompts, repeating instructions, or struggling to make these tools feel truly helpful. Rather than starting from scratch each time, participants will learn how to shape AI tools around their own workflows, preferences, and recurring tasks.
The session will explore practical ways to move beyond one‑off prompts and into more personalized, efficient use of tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot 365. Topics include how to build and use Custom GPTs, personalize AI tools so they reflect your voice and work style, use saved prompts and automation to reduce repetition, and understand what Microsoft Copilot 365 can do within everyday tools. The workshop will also offer an overview of emerging capabilities like skills and integrations, along with guidance on choosing the right platform for different types of work. Live demonstrations, real use cases, and time for Q&A will help participants apply these ideas directly to their own roles.
According to a UMC news release, Patrick Gotham is a Senior Vice President at CCS Fundraising, where he works closely with nonprofit partners at key moments of growth as they look to expand their impact and strengthen their role in the communities they serve. His approach centers on helping teams make practical decisions, build stronger systems, and gain clarity on what matters most. Gotham’s work with generative AI grew out of his own curiosity and experimentation, and he now helps colleagues and client partners use these tools more effectively in their day‑to‑day work. His sessions focus on making AI approachable and useful, with an emphasis on reducing friction, saving time, and creating outputs that reflect how people think and work.
Registration is now open. This workshop is free for current UMC grantee organizations and open to any other area nonprofits for a $20 fee. Please call 207‑236‑2299 or email admin@unitedmidcoastcharities.org to register.
