Democrats statewide to caucus Sunday
Democrats around the state will caucus March 2 to choose candidates the general election in November.
U.S. Congressman Mike Michaud is challenging Republican Gov. Paul LePage. LePage is seeking his second term.
Michaud’s decision to run for governor has generated significant interest from both parties in his current post. Three Democrats are currently seeking their party’s nomination in the bid to represent Maine’s Second Congressional District, including State Senators Emily Cain of Orono and Troy Jackson of Allagash, and Alden Smith of Sangerville.
Shenna Bellows, former Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine, is the presumptive Democratic nominee in the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Susan Collins.
