Charlotte Milliken Emerson, obituary
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that, I Robert Milliken II, share that my mother, Charlotte (Nute) Milliken Emerson, was called by God to go to her heavenly home with other family and friends before her, on April 26, 2022 at Windward Gardens in Camden, Maine.
Mom was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Bernice (Warren) and Ernest Nute on July 31,1945 and moved to Maine in the 50s. Finally settling in Union in November 1957 with her mother, father, and brother Ernie, that she loved so much.
Graduating from Union High School she met her first love, Robert Milliken, on their Senior Class trip and they married in May following graduation. Divorcing while I was a young boy, they always remained in contact sharing a holiday meal with their respective spouses many years later, at my home in Union.
Mom would find herself typing reports for me at the last minute for school and other last-minute things, putting up with me and my friends growing up. We had some great fun!
In 1994 Mom married her last love, David Emerson, and they were together until David’s passing in August 2021.
Both David and Charlotte travelled for work. She worked for Ames setting up stores in other States. She had many jobs over the years, but her favorite of all was Ames. Customer Service was her niche. Working in the public that many find stressful, she met many that today she called friends. I proudly say I take after my mother with my work ethic. She taught me by example and for that I am grateful. It has served me well. Thanks Mom!
Her many interests included, bow ling, crocheting, genealogy and baking different kinds of bread for anyone and everyone. If you knew Mom very well then odds are she made a loaf of bread for you. She enjoyed her scratch tickets, did I say she enjoyed her scratch tickets and too many more to list.
She was predeceased by her husband David; her mother; father; and brother, Ernie.
Charlotte is survived by her first husband, Robert Milliken; Robert II, my wife Robin and our children Robert III (Naomi) and daughter Sarah, Scott and son Damien, Branden and daughter Avery, Samantha (Jeff ) and children, Angel, Heather, Jillian and Jeffery as well as 5 great great grandchildren.
Brother Ernie’s two children, Jinny and Jessica (Kevin), and their children, Mary and Christopher.
Stepchildren Crystal Young (Ian) and children Dakota and Mavrick, David Emerson and his children Paige, David Ill and Cyndal. Ernie and his children Joseph and Hannah as well as 3 great grandchildren.
A special friend John that considered Charlotte Mom and who was a great help to her, as well as other great friends and neighbors.
A special thank you to Michaela that helped Charlotte out with a ride or cleaning or kitties...
A special thank you to Windward Gardens for the love, care and compassion that they showed Mom when she needed it most.
