Capt. Daniel Bennett on WRFR, at Old School Symposium April 1
ROCKLAND — Rockland harbor sloop captain Daniel Bennett will be on WRFR and at an Old School dinner symposium Friday, April 1. The live broadcast interview begins at 4 p.m. on 93.3 FM in Rockland and 99.3 FM in Camden. Following the radio show, the Old School will host Bennett at a dinner symposium in his honor.
Bennett began sailing and building boats when he was 11 years old. At 16 he set out on a life at sea, sailing square riggers and schooners on the Atlantic and Pacific. Before settling down to his current life of carrying passengers aboard Bufflehead, his 30-foot wooden sloop, Bennett spent six years alone on a small engine-less wooden sailboat cruising both coasts of the Atlantic. He has logged more than 100,000 miles at sea.
WRFR's Rockland Metro show each week invites a guest to bring unique perspectives on life in and around Rockland. Guests on the show often participate in an Old School dinner symposium following the show.
Dinner symposia at the Old School are free and open to the public. Each symposium is limited to twelve seats at the round table, so participants must reserve their place in advance. Participants must also be ready to help. The dinner is prepared and served - and the dishes washed - in collaboration with the participants.
To reserve a place at the table for this Friday's dinner symposium with Daniel Bennett, interested persons are invited to contact Joe Steinberger at joe@interhuman.org
