CAMDEN — The Camden Rotary Club Foundation invites local nonprofit 501©3 organizations to apply for grants from now until February 28, 2022.

The Club provides financial support to organizations that work to improve the lives of people in in Knox County and Lincolnville.

In addition to a grant of $5,000 for a project or program serving youth under the age of 20, the club will award eight grants to nonprofit 501c3 organizations that (1) promote local economic and workforce development focusing on, but not limited to, the areas of child and elder care or (2) provide direct help to people in need in the areas of food and /or heating assistance. The eight grants include one $10,000 large grant, two large grants of $5,000 each, and five small grants of $1,000 each.

Previous recipients of Large Grants must wait three years to re-apply, and Small Grant recipients must wait two years  to re-apply.

The foundation prefers to fund projects for which its grant awards represent a sizable portion of a project’s total cost, according to Camden Rotary, in a news release. Also, applicants must also be to demonstrate the capacity and readiness to start this year on the project for which it is seeking funding.

“Thanks to our fundraising efforts during the past year, we can offer $30,000 to help local nonprofits serve community members,” says Camden Rotary Grants Committee Chair Richard Householder. “Our grants committee, board of directors and members will announce our 2022 grantees in April after a thorough review of the applications.”
